Imagine the difference you can make as a Bilingual English/Spanish Pediatric Medical Assistant at Legacy Community Health, where innovation in healthcare delivery meets compassionate community service. Based in the heart of Houston, TX at our vibrant Legacy Northline Clinic (5598 A-1 N Fwy.), you'll be pivotal in guiding our little heroes and their families through comprehensive care journeys. Our mission is to extend premium, full-spectrum healthcare to every community member, irrespective of their economic standing.

In this role, you're not just supporting care; you're co-creating wellness. Your interaction with patients from providing injections and drawing blood to maintaining a seamless workflow of the clinic is vital in our commitment to treat, educate, and empower. At Legacy, we are proud to stand as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), offering unparalleled access to resources from free pregnancy tests to HIV/AIDS screenings, along with avenues for better wellness through literacy classes and nutritional guidance.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Craft a welcoming experience by interviewing patients to gather essential medical information and recording vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens with precision, ensuring they’re ready for testing and follow the correct protocols.
  • Act as an essential partner to our physicians, facilitating their assessment and treatment plans by handing instruments, giving injections, and managing sutures with deft skill.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are optimally prepped and maintained, embodying the highest standards of cleanliness and readiness for patient care.
  • Master the art of cleansing and sterilizing equipment, disposing of contaminated supplies to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
  • Engage patients through phone consultations, offering insights into test results and addressing health concerns with clarity and compassion.

What We Are Looking For

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish to liaise effectively within our diverse community.
